Starting your Conception Journey...

Longing for a sweet little bundle of joy? Where to start?

Of course we all know that smoking, drinking, and using illegal drugs are extremely harmful, and potentially deadly for a unborn baby. So needless to say, the first step is to stay away from these harmful habits.

It is important to take your overall health and weight into consideration next. First, if you have any pre-existing medical conditons, you can ask your doctor what risks your medications may present, and if there are alternative medications that are pregnancy safe.

Another concern is maintaining a healthy weight. Being excessively overweight or under weight can cause complications in pregnancy and might even prevent conception.

Your OB will want to do a few tests to check your hormone levels, and to check for any conditions that might affect conception.

Must haves for TTC(trying to concieve)

Basal themometer (to chart your tempature to determine fertile days)

A charting account ( FertilityFriend.com or Tcoyf.com)

OPK( ovulation prediction kit)

Prenatal vitamins (to prepare your body for your little bean :)

And last, but not least, PATIENCE!!!

TTC is as thrilling as it is frustrating, and cause emotion distress, and can be  hard on the pockets.
But the rewards are well worth it! Just as with anything in life, there must be balance. Remember to enjoy life and relax, not only because life is precious, but because it will create a stress-free, welcome place for your little bean to implant in.

May all your baby dreams come true!!

Welcome to our Belly Blog!

Our vision in creating Glowing Belly was to create a place for mommies, and mommies-to-be to come and share, vent, and find the information that we all want to know through our journeys.  Having four children ourselves, we understand the need to find relatable information, as well as just to have a place to come and express yourself where you know that others will listen and understand. Babies are our passion, and our efforts to share this vital information with you are expressions of that Love. We are brand new and in the development phase, and as we grow, we would love to hear your feedback and will give your suggestions our undivided attention. This blog will soon be connected with the website we are developing at GlowingBelly.com. Thank you so much for visiting us!
